EVENTS

March 2023 A bird-themed reading in Glastonbury Library as part of Simon Armitage’s Libraries Tour.

A dear friend of mine once described Simon to me as “so unassuming, courteous, grounded, generous, respectful to others – everything I admire about anyone who’s himself excelled in a particular field. Also full of quirky northern humour…” Now having met him, I agree wholeheartedly with every word.
This was a wonderful event. Not just the poetry but the way Simon engaged the audience during Q&A was just brilliant.

North Norfolk Festival of Literature & Landscape 2024

“Natural Connections” with Mark Cocker and Matt Howard

So, imagine…. Someone tells you you’re going to a festival and you’ll spend time with the most amazing people. You’ll eat fish and chips with Adam Nicolson (who’ll gatecrash your workshop the next morning!!). You’ll have a night walk to the sea with Alice Oswald. You’ll get a bit drunk over dinner with Mark Cocker. You’ll spend time with the brilliant artist James Cockburn. You’ll meet a dear friend Rosetta Flint Moore after 45 years! It was quite a thing!!

October 2022 Poetry reading with Mark Haworth Booth in St. Anne’s Chapel, Barnstaple

This was a particularly lovely reading because we read poems alternately in response to each other.
